How to Install the Cleanover App on iOS

Join Cleanover testing with TestFlight, then install and update the internal Cleanover app on iPhone or iPad.

Updated Sep 15, 2026 Mobile app

Cleanover for iPhone and iPad is an internal app that is not available on the App Store. Instead, it is shared with approved testers through Apple TestFlight. This guide walks you through joining the Cleanover TestFlight program, installing the app, and keeping it up to date.

What this guide helps you do

  • Join Cleanover testing through the TestFlight invitation link.
  • Install the TestFlight app if it is not already on your device.
  • Install the latest Cleanover build.
  • Update Cleanover whenever a new build is released.

Who this guide is for

This guide is for ST staff members who have been assigned to test the Cleanover app. If you have not been asked to take part in testing, contact your team lead before following these steps.

Before you begin

Check that you have everything below. Having it ready avoids most installation problems.

  • An iPhone or iPad running iOS 14.0 or later. To check your version, open Settings, then General, then About, and look for iOS Version.
  • An Apple ID that is signed in on the device.
  • A stable internet connection. Wi-Fi is recommended, because each build is downloaded in full.
  • Enough free storage for the app and future updates.

Tip: Open the invitation link directly on the iPhone or iPad where you want to install Cleanover. TestFlight invitations are accepted on the device itself.

Step 1: Open the TestFlight invitation

On your iOS device, open the Cleanover invitation link:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/bPYQeGMV

Safari opens a TestFlight page for Cleanover. If TestFlight is not installed yet, the page shows a link to install it first.

Step 2: Install TestFlight if prompted

TestFlight is Apple’s official app for installing test builds. If it is not already on your device:

  1. Follow the prompt to open TestFlight in the App Store.
  2. Tap Get and wait for TestFlight to install.
  3. Return to Safari and open the invitation link again.

Reopening the link after installing TestFlight is important. It passes the invitation to TestFlight so Cleanover becomes available to you.

Step 3: Sign in and accept the invitation

  1. If asked, sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. Review the Cleanover testing information.
  3. Tap Accept to join Cleanover testing.

After you accept, Cleanover appears in your list of apps in TestFlight.

Step 4: Install Cleanover

  1. Open the TestFlight app.
  2. Locate Cleanover in the app list.
  3. Tap Install to download the latest build.
  4. Wait for the installation to complete. Keep the device connected to the internet until it finishes.

When the installation finishes, you can open Cleanover from your Home Screen. Apps installed through TestFlight show a small orange dot next to their name, which tells you that it is a test build.

How to verify the result

  • The Cleanover icon appears on your Home Screen or in the App Library.
  • Cleanover opens without an error message.
  • In TestFlight, Cleanover shows Open instead of Install or Update.

Keep Cleanover up to date (mandatory)

Cleanover is an internal app, and new builds are released often to fix problems and add features. TestFlight builds also expire after a limited time, so an old build will eventually stop opening.

  • Always update to the latest build before you use or test the app.
  • Do not use expired or outdated TestFlight builds.
  • Send testing feedback only from the latest available build.

To update, open TestFlight, find Cleanover, and tap Update when it is shown. To update automatically, open Cleanover in TestFlight and turn on Automatic Updates.

Common issues and solutions

The invitation link opens but nothing happens

Make sure TestFlight is installed, then open the link again in Safari. Links opened inside other apps, such as a chat app’s built-in browser, sometimes do not pass the invitation to TestFlight.

The link says the beta is full or no longer accepting testers

The tester limit may have been reached, or the link may have been disabled. Contact your team lead and ask to be added again.

Cleanover shows “This beta has expired”

The installed build has passed its TestFlight expiry date. Open TestFlight and install the newest available build. If no build is available, contact your team lead.

The Install button is unavailable

Check that your device runs iOS 14.0 or later, that you have enough free storage, and that you are signed in with your Apple ID. Restarting the device and reopening TestFlight can also help.

Cleanover disappeared from TestFlight

You may have been removed from the tester group, or you may be signed in with a different Apple ID. Confirm the Apple ID in Settings, then contact your team lead if the problem continues.

Best practices

  • Turn on Automatic Updates for Cleanover in TestFlight.
  • Check for a newer build at the start of every testing session.
  • Include the build number when you report an issue. You can find it on the Cleanover page in TestFlight.
  • Use the Send Beta Feedback option in TestFlight to attach screenshots to your reports.
  • Do not share the invitation link outside the assigned testing group.
